Rules & Guidelines

General:

  1. Use only the application modes suggested on this website to submit your entries.
  2. Requests for participation cancellation, and thereby refund, will not be entertained.
  3. The organizers reserve the right to ban participants if they are found abusive and behave rudely with the organizers/volunteers/vendors/third-party contractors during the event.
  4. The organizers reserve the right to share the participant’s contact information with the event sponsors.

Entries:

  1. Only individual entries for Full Marathon, 20 Miler, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and 2K Gammath Run/Walk categories shall be accepted.
  2. Full Marathon: The age to participate is 18 years and above as of 10 November 2024
  3. 20 Miler: The age to participate is 18 years and above as of 10 November 2024
  4. Half Marathon: The age to participate is 15 years and above as of 10 November 2024
  5. 10 Km: The age to participate is 17 years and above for OPEN 10K and 12-17 years for CFAL Student Run 10K as of 10 November 2024
  6. 5 Km: The age to participate is 17 years and above for OPEN 5K and 8-17 years for CFAL Student Run 5K as of 10 November 2024
  7. CFAL Student Run is for students between 8 and 17 years only.
  8. 2K Gammath Run/Walk: Open to all. Participants who are below 12 years of age and must be accompanied by an adult runner.

Entry Confirmations:

  1. Confirmation of applications received will be subject to Entry Rules & Guidelines given herein. Confirmation of applications will also be subject to the Confirmation Criteria.
  2. Post close of registrations, email confirmations will be sent to all the confirmed participants who have given their valid email id in the application form. If you do not receive any intimation from the race office, please email us at info@mangaloremarathon.com

Application Status:

  1. On the application being successfully submitted, registrants will receive an email confirming their application.
  2. After the entries close, runners will receive an email with their BIB Number and other details.

Race Regulations:

  1. You will be entitled to participate only in the race category for which you have applied and for which your entry has been confirmed. Your entry and race bib are not transferable to any other person under any circumstance.
  2. Runners found to have interchanged their race bib with another individual will be disqualified from the event and shall not be allowed to apply or participate in the next edition of our events.
  3. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify or exclude any person from the event/competition who gives incorrect personal data/details in the entry form, who has been banned from competition under IAAF jurisdiction, or who is suspected of having taken banned substances. No refund of the entry fee will be made.
  4. No result or certificate will be given to runners who do not start their run at the respective start time of the race category they have been confirmed in.
  5. No wheeled vehicles are allowed on the course. Anyone bringing wheeled vehicles will be disqualified from the race and asked to leave the course.
  6. To ensure the re-opening of roads by 10:15 A.M. (Or as decided by the event organizers), the organizers will designate cut-off times at specified locations. Runners failing to reach these specific locations within the times specified must stick to the footpath to complete their race.
  7. The Full Marathon participants will be eligible for a timing certificate/prize money provided they cross the finish line within 6 hours. Participants in the full marathon must finish 27 kilometers within 3 hours and 45 minutes; otherwise, they will be removed from the course.

    Note: After 10:15 AM there will be partial traffic in many places and thereafter full traffic will be open. Any participant wearing the event bib after 10:15 AM will be transported off the course in our vehicles. This is being done for the safety of the participants and under orders of the local law authorities.

  8. Only those confirmed participants wearing the current Mangalore Marathon 2024 race bibs will be allowed on the route. Any person found wearing the incorrect bib or not wearing a bib will be disqualified and removed by security.

  9. Further, every runner must wear his/her race bib on the front of the vest. Any mutilation, fold, alteration, or damage to the bib will amount to the disqualification of the runner from the event.
  10. Organizers reserve the right to stop any participant from participating who is found medically unfit to continue in the opinion of the designated medical personnel present on route.
  11. Baggage counters are available only for participants with valid Mangalore Marathon 2024 Bib. For security reasons, participants are requested to come, as far as possible, without any baggage. It is strongly recommended that you do not leave valuables like mobile phones, cameras, jewelry, watch, electronic gadgets, etc. in the bags deposited at the baggage counter. Organizers are not responsible for any loss of baggage and belongings.
  12. Participants are requested to cooperate with the police and security personnel deputed at the event venues and on the route. Participants/supporters are liable to random checking on race day for your security.
  13. Photographs captured during any Niveus Mangalore Marathon 2023 event on race day can be used to promote the event.
  14. Provisional Results: The race results announced on the race day will be considered provisional. The results and entitlement to prize money are subject to the rules mentioned herein and the Race Regulations.
  15. The final result ( for position/ranking) will be declared within 30 days from the event date.
  16. Starting Line Requirement: Participants must start their race from the designated start line at the official start time of the race category on the race day. Starting the race at any other start time or place will lead to the disqualification of the runner.
  17. Net Finish Times: The finish positions of runners will be determined based on net finish times only. To be eligible for timings, rankings, and potential prize money (where applicable), runners must cross the start line within 15 minutes of the official start time of the race category.
  18. Cut-off Finish Time for Full Marathon: The cut-off finish time for prize money entitlement in the full marathon is 5½ hours from the start time.
  19. Bib Tag Timing and Verification: Bib tag timing will be captured at all timing points on the course, including the start and finish mats. Furthermore, physical verification will be conducted by technical officials.
  20. Disqualification for Bib Interchange: Runners found to have interchanged their running number bib and/or bib tag with others will be disqualified from the competition. Such runners shall not be entitled to any timing or prize money (where applicable).
  21. Age Consideration: Age will be considered as of 10.11.2024. Prize winners may be required to submit further proof of identity/age as requested by the event organizers for the disbursement of prize money. Failure to provide the necessary documentation may result in the organizers withholding the disbursement or disqualifying the participant at their sole discretion.
  22. In the event of a tie in the race results, the decision of the organizers will be final. In such cases, where two or more runners achieve identical finish times, the organizers will carefully review the circumstances and relevant data to determine the official ranking and entitlement to any applicable prize money.
  23. If an age category winner finishes within the overall top positions of the open category, the runner will retain the winning position of the relevant age group while receiving the higher prize money 
  24. Income Tax Rules: Prize Money is subject to applicable Indian Income Tax Rules, and the same would be borne by the winner.
  25. The decision of the Organisers shall be final and binding on all.

Terms Of Use:

Mangalore Marathon owns the information collected via the Website. As applicable, the information you provide to us may be used to contact you about the Website and Website related news; monitor and improve the Website; provide special offers to you from us and/or our respective affiliates, subsidiaries, and other third parties; inform you of prizes you may have won or send promotional material on behalf of our partners.

Disclaimer:

YOU EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT: To run a Mangalore Marathon event runners agree to the following disclaimer and to the Terms & Conditions: “I declare I will abide by the age limits set for the event and will abide by the laws and rules of Mangalore Marathon. I declare that I will not compete in the race unless I am medically fit on the day of the race and that, in any event, I will compete at my own risk. I accept that the organizers, sponsors, partners, and marshals will not be liable for any loss, damage, action, claim, costs, or expenses, which may arise as a consequence of my participation in the event. I also hereby give my permission to Mangalore Marathon to use my name, quotes, video, and photographic likeness for marketing and promotional purposes. I also understand that entry fees are non-refundable. I agree to the terms and conditions before I will run any Mangalore Marathon Event.”

Finisher Medals:

All runners of the Full Marathon, 20 Miler, Half Marathon, 10 Km, 5 Km & 2 Km Gammath Run/Walk categories will receive a Finisher Medal post their run. Medals will not be posted to individual runners.

Timing Certificate:

Timing certificates for the Full Marathon, 20 Miler, Half Marathon, 10Km & 5Km timed run finishers will be available for download from the website within 30 days from race day.

Race Bib Collection:

  1. All confirmed participants are required to collect their bibs from the 3rd floor of Fiza by Nexus, Pandeshwar, Mangaluru, between November 7, 2024, and November 9, 2024. The Race Bib will not be posted to an individual’s mailing address nor distributed on race day.
  2. The participant must collect his/her race bib personally. In case of unavoidable circumstances, such a runner can send his/her authorized representative to collect the race bib on his/her behalf. The authorized representative must carry with him/her:
    1. Soft Copy of Confirmation Email/SMS with BIB Number details.
    2. Soft Copy of Photo-identity proof (Aadhar card, PAN Card, or passport) of the confirmed participant.
