Mangalore, November 11, 2023 – The Mangalore Runners Club announced the results of the Niveus Mangalore Marathon 2023 held on November 5th. Sachin from Udupi won the Full Marathon in the men’s category with a timing of 2:36:34, while Bijoya Barman from Assam claimed victory in the women’s category with a timing of 3:32:29. Wendy Murdock, an American national, secured the top spot in the 10KM veteran category. The event being the second edition of the Mangalore Marathon, saw participation from 4000 individuals from across the country, including international representation from Denmark, Japan, and the United States.

The run, featuring a route certified by the Association of International Marathons (AIMS), included Full Marathon (42.195 KM), Half Marathon (21.0975 KMS), 10KM, 5KM, and a 2KM fun run. The route, spanning from Mangala Stadium to Thannirbhavi beach, offered a picturesque yet challenging course. The Roman & Catherine Lobo School for the Visually Impaired, the charity partner, had its needs for new furniture for classrooms and computer accessories fulfilled through the event.

A total of 100 winners across different age categories were announced, with a total prize money of Rs 7 lakhs. The Mangalore Runners Club expresses gratitude to participants, sponsors, partners, the city administration, Mangaluru City Police, volunteers, and the local community for their contributions to the success of the event. The Mangalore Marathon is an annual event held on the first Sunday of November every year and it continues to be a source of inspiration for runners nationally and internationally.
